Origin: Austria
Maker: Anton Liszt
Anto Liszt worked from 1828-1868. He was a prominent vienna clockmaker.
He is listed in Claterbos' Book on Viennas as working
as a sworn appraiser in 1828, a maker of carraige clocks in 1830 and also
a ' controller of clocks for the guards '. We also know he made extremely
fine weight Viennas, which you are about to see here.

This vienna is rosewood veneer with inlaid stringing and fine carvings
at the sides and
in the tail of the case. A later delicate cresting rests
on the top and the pendulum bob
is ' brass-backed '. The eight day brass movement runs
by one weight, is fine precision and runs
perfect.
slender case

Perfect porcelain dial
The dial is two piece with
a solid bezel and fine slender hands, the hour hand having a clover leaf
design. It is signed ' Anton Liszt in Wien ' on the porcelain
which is perfect also.
All these factors tell it is from the transitional period.
A very fine and desirable clock.
