One of the favorite and most sought after Scottish longcases. The
beautiful flame mahogany case has a superb original finish. There are inset
columns to the trunk, a solid convex door with carved shaped
top and acorn finial. Also brass hinges, lock and keyhole. Architecturally
outstanding with high plynth and curved
apron at the base foot.

The swans neck pediment on the hood has wooden roundels to match the three wooden finials. The hood door is keyed also.
Delicate painting enhances the 'white dial' which is early, and decorated to the period. The fancy hands carry pineapple finials. This is an eight day clock dial showing a seconds bit and calendar and signed by the maker.

The brass movement is of eight day duration, time &
striking on a cast bell.
The mvt. has been cleaned, running well and in good condition.
The pendulum is a work of art...a "ROSE" with leaves
in relief in the 'cast' .
