The Picardy clock is a relation to the Normandy clocks
of France. It formed a part of the local furniture
design near the end of the eighteenth century. The case
has straight sides. The dial is surrounded by a large
carved bouquet of flowers, with flowers and leaves cascading down each
side of the dial.
Wheat ear carving surrounds the enamel dial.
The hood has geometric leaf design and carved molding
beneath.
The long narrow quarter cut oak case is very classical
style. Above the door is another basket of roses and in
the lower area of the door, a third elongated spray of
flowers.

The white convex porcelain dial with an outer seconds
ring, having fancy brass hands.
The glass is convex also.
