A warm and beautiful figured mahogany longcase. This longcase is in very good condition
thus retaining much of its antiquity. The hood has a high broken arch pediment which adds        fineness to the case.  Well  turned pillars to the hood and trunk give this case a pleasing                   addition .The doors have rosewood crossbanding  with an original brass escutcheon for locking.
The case is sturdy and of thick stucture as are most of the scottish longcases.

The dial is most impressive, having a full colour painting of a large peacock/ fountain/ flowers and scrolls to the spandrels. The circular white dial portion has seconds dial and a calendar dial. It is well signed.
The brass longcase movement is 8 day duration and strikes on a cast bell.(mvt. cleaned recently.)
The long pendulum has the typical SCOTTISH 'bob' which is painted with a floral design    matching the dial.
